Victor "Vic" Anson Fleming: Judge, Author and Crossword Puzzle Extraordinaire

Judge, law professor, and writer residing in Little Rock, Arkansas. Fleming has written two books of legal humor, including Real Lawyers Do Change Their Briefs; His crossword puzzles have appeared in the New York Times and many other newspapers; several magazines, including Games Magazine, The Rotarian, and The American Lawyer; and several books, including the Simon & Schuster Mega Crossword series and Random House Casual Crosswords; and in other venues. He appeared in the 2006 documentary Wordplay, which also featured a song that he wrote.[8] The New York Times crossword puzzle published on Friday, May 12, 2017, was collaboratively constructed by Fleming and former president Bill Clinton.[9] |

Sharon Perry Fantini from Tiffin University, Ohio, has been named the next vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion following a national search. Perry Fantini, who serves as vice provost for equity, access and opportunity and Title IX coordinator at Tiffin University, will begin at Iowa State on Jan. 18, 2022. Perry Fantini has been in her current position at Tiffin University since 2009 and also serves as an associate professor of management. She is a member of the Association of Title IX Administrators advisory board; the external advisory board for diversity and inclusion for Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York; and the Society for Human Resource Management. Perry Fantini holds bachelor's degrees in organizational management and human resources management and an MBA from Tiffin University and a Ph.D. in human resources and organization management from Minneapolis-based Capella University. |

Central Iowa Drug Taskforce

The Central Iowa Drug Task Force is a multi jurisdictional task force covering Story, Boone and Greene counties under the direction of the Story County Sheriff’s Office. Full time members include the Story Co Sheriff’s Office, Ames Police, ISU Police, Story Co Attorney’s Office, Boone Co Sheriff’s Office, Boone Police Dept. Boone Co Attorneys’ Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Iowa national Guard. Numerous other law Enforcement agencies in the three counties serve as part time members. The Sheriff’s Office has two full time deputies assigned to the task force, both positions are funded through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy. The Sergeant from the Sheriff’s Office assigned to the task force coordinates and supervises all task force activities and maintains the funding grant. |

Adam Thoms is an Associate Professor of Commercial Turfgrass in the Department of Horticulture at Iowa State University. Adam is the state Turfgrass Extension Specialist helping athletic fields, golf courses, and professional lawn care companies with issues they run into during the year, he also conducts research on turfgrass management as well as teaches classes on sports turf management and turfgrass irrigation. He grew up in Waverly, IA attended Iowa State for his undergraduate and received both his Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. |
