The Rotary Club of Ames President Jeff Iles announces the Rotary Club of Ames will accept applications for their 2015 Local Projects Grants beginning January 26th, 2015.  These grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations in Ames to address community needs.  The deadline for applications is March 6th.   Final funding decisions will be made in May and funds will be awarded to the organizations at a club meeting in June, 2015.

This year eight (8) $1000 grants will be awarded that benefit residents of Ames.  No projects will be considered that primarily advance a religious cause or tradition, and only one proposal from any organization will be funded, although multiple project submissions are permitted.

For many years the Rotary Club of Ames has been supporting the local community through its Local Projects Grant process.  Last year thirteen organizations received funding:  ACCESS; Ames Historical Society; Community and Family Resources; Heartland Senior Services of Story County; HOMEWARD Public Health; Mainstream Living Inc.; Matthew 25 House; Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc.; NAMI of Central Iowa; Northminster Presbyterian Church; Story County Crime Stoppers; The Arc of Story County; Youth and Shelter Services.

Requests for proposals will be sent out in January.  Local organizations that meet the guidelines may apply.  If your organization is interested in applying, there is a one page grant application form.   To request the application form or for questions regarding the granting process contact Karin Sevde, Executive Secretary of the Rotary Club of Ames at 515-450-8595 or email: info@rotaryclubofames.org.
